Edward M. Dempsey, CFP® is Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Pension Partners, LLC.
For over 25 years, Mr. Dempsey has provided professional management and advice in the areas of pension planning and investment management. He has built a reputation for being an alternative manager, able to position client portfolios in ways that traditional Wall Street firms don’t in an effort to continuously maximize the amount of time and capital spent in potentially outperforming investments. Mr. Dempsey’s clients include principals of closely held businesses, high net worth individuals, executives of large corporations, and small endowments. He has co-hosted live programs and been interviewed on Bloomberg numerous times. Mr. Dempsey is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.
Mr. Dempsey earned his B.S in Economics from St. Peter’s University.
Michael A. Gayed, CFA
As Portfolio Manager, Mr. Gayed helps to structure portfolios to best take advantage of various strategies designed to maximize the amount of time and capital spent in potentially outperforming investments.
Prior to his current role, he served as Portfolio Manager for a large international investment group, trading long/short investment ideas. From 2004 – 2008, he was a Portfolio Strategist at AmeriCap Advisers, LLC. As a member of the investment committee, he performed detailed analysis and helped to structure client portfolios. In 2007, Mr. Gayed launched his own long/short hedge fund, using various trading strategies focused on taking advantage of stock market anomalies.
Mr. Gayed is an active contributor to popular financial websites and has been interviewed on national media, including CNBC and Bloomberg TV/Radio. An award winning author, Mr. Gayed is a sought after speaker discussing his research and unique approach to interpreting market movements.
Mr. Gayed earned his B.S. from New York University, and is a CFA Charterholder.
Michelle Dempsey has over 25 years of marketing, sales and managerial experience, working for companies such as ADP and Johnson & Johnson. While working for J&J, she managed $25 million worth of business and a team of 10 sales representatives. In addition, Michelle has led cross functional teams of both internal and external clients. Most recently, she has worked with small business owners and high net worth individuals in developing strategies and installing systems, enabling them to increase profitability. By determining client needs, she has implemented solutions for them to achieve goals and objectives.
Michelle’s varied business expertise and organizational skills help to ensure a solid foundation to support the client services and marketing division at Pension Partners as the firm’s Relationship Manager.
Michelle earned her B.S in Marketing/Economics from St. Peter’s University.
Nadia’s career spans over 25 years of Wall Street experience. She previously served as CEO, CFO, and COO of AmeriCap Advisers, LLC, a registered investment advisory firm that provided advisory services to large institutional public clients. She also set up domestic and offshore hedge funds that managed high net worth individual assets. She previously managed Operations at another registered investment advisory firm where she was also responsible for GIPS (formerly AIMR) compliance and performance calculation. Prior to that, Nadia was Vice President and Head of Accounting and Internal Control at Citibank’s North American Global Finance where she was responsible for monitoring controls in the Fixed Income, Derivatives, Foreign Exchange, and Commercial Real Estate Operations. She also represented her Unit on the Task Force that was responsible for setting up the proprietary Broker/Dealer legal vehicle. Nadia is a CPA, having previously worked as an auditor at Ernst & Young.
Nadia holds an MBA in Accounting from New York University’s Stern School of Business and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of CPAs.
Mozart is the firm’s Director of Security, ensuring the safety of all employees of Pension Partners. His strength lies in his never-ending energy, which in turn makes him a formidable force. Don’t let his quiet demeanor fool you. Mozart has implemented significant security measures and protocols since the company’s inception, and often serves as a mediator when Ed Dempsey and Michael A. Gayed are arguing about market behavior.
